Medical Information
First aid and medical needs in school are managed by Mrs Tudge who can be found in the pupil reception area of the school. If you need to contact the team regarding any medical needs, injuries or concerns you have, please contact them on RBA-Medical@bestacademies.org.uk.
Every visit to the medical room is logged on our Smartlog system and an email is sent home with a brief description of the issue. Emails are delivered from notifications@sl.safesmart.co.uk, please add this to your safe sender list to avoid emails being delivered to your spam box. If the team have any concerns about an illness or injury, they will call home.
To keep our school community safe, no medication should be carried by individuals within the school apart from emergency medication (epi pens, salbutamol inhalers and insulin). All other medication should be handed in to the medical room at the start of the school day. Medication can be stored in school if there is an ongoing need.
For all non-emergency medications (not including Asthma inhalers or Epi-Pens) required in school, please complete the Administration of Medication Consent form here...

Due to the number of allergy sufferers within our community, we are strictly a NO NUT SCHOOL. Please do not send your child to school with any product which contains nuts. It is especially important to consider this around Christmas and the end of term when “treats” are often brought into school.
If there is a change to your child’s medical needs, please contact school as mentioned above and complete a draft care plan (template below). This can then be reviewed, completed by the medical team and the relevant staff members alerted so that your child is fully supported in school.
In readiness for their school day, all students should have with them a named water bottle to stay hydrated and we advise a small snack for them to eat at break time. In addition, in the warm summer months, please ensure your child has a named hat and sun cream to apply through the day.
