Curriculum Maps

At Robert Bloomfield Academy, we are in the process of reviewing our curriculum for students.  This is being undertaken to ensure that our students continue to receive a broad and balanced curriculum offer, making use of the specialist facilities and teachers available to them and also to reflect the changing needs of the student population.

The aim of this curriculum review is to ensure that we continue to provide a curriculum that is not limited to but includes, a varied range of engaging texts in English, exciting recipes in Food Technology, exposure to a range of musical genres and an inclusive curriculum in PE.  All of our Curriculum Leaders are working hard to ensure:

  • Curriculum cohesion between and within subjects and coverage of the National Curriculum
  • Effective sequencing and cumulative building of knowledge linked to students' future studies
  • Learning is broken down into 'components' (incremental steps in learning) and 'composites' (key destinations/assessment points along the learning journey)
  • A strong focus on retrieval; students knowing more, doing more and remembering more

As such, the curriculum area pages are currently under review and will be updated over the coming weeks to ensure that the most accurate curriculum information is communicated with all students and families.  However, the link below to the curriculum overview shows what topics are being taught in the coming term.
